Beat the heat: Coping with heat and COVID-19

Coping with the heat and COVID-19 could be challenging this summer, so the NHS are trying to make it as simple as possible.

Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it’s too hot for too long, there can be serious health risks. If a heatwave hits this summer, make sure the hot weather does not harm you or anyone you know. The main risks posed by a heatwave are:

  • Not having enough water (dehydration)
  • Overheating, which can make symptoms worse for people who already have problems with their heart or breathing
  • Heat exhaustion and heatstroke
