The Pathology department at the Royal Derby Hospital provide Phlebotomy (blood test) Clinic sessions at the following four hospitals:

Important information regarding Royal Derby Hospital outpatients clinic:

GP patients are able to have their blood taken at the Royal Derby Hospital or London Road Community Hospital blood test clinic for routine tests. This facility is only open to patients who have request for blood tests from outpatient departments within the Trust. For speciality requests please enquire with clinics for the most appropriate phlebotomy location.

Children’s Hospital 

Please ensure where possible that children under 12 years of age visit the paediatric facility at the Children’s Hospital at the Royal Derby Hospital to have blood tests. This is an appointment only service.

Community Clinic Operating Hours

The Pathology Department also manage a number of Phlebotomists who operate from clinics within the community. The provision of these clinics aims to provide a service to the patients that require phlebotomy, who may find it difficult to attend our hospital facilities.
